I was born in Denver, Colorado and have lived in various parts of the state my whole life. People often ask me why I chose Ireland to earn my MA. I suppose the easiest answer is that in 2008 I traveled abroad for the first time. I was flying into London, and just as the sun was coming up, I looked out the window, through the thin vale of clouds, and saw Ireland below. There was an instant connection to that patch of emerald Earth, and I vowed that someday I would visit that beautiful land. While my roots are most German, I have always felt a great connection to the 1/4 Irish blood that runs through my heart. When it came time to look at graduate programs, I was at a perfect place in my life to look at studying abroad. Ireland was an instant favorite, and the University College Cork was a perfect fit for what I was looking for.
